We only select materials and components of the highest quality with the lowest-possible impact on the environment.
INNOVATIVE AND SUSTAINABLE LININGS
Depending on our models, we use different kind of linings. But they all meet the same requirement: to present a lower impact on the environment than linings commonly used in traditional leather goods.
For instance, we use Ultrasuede®, a fabric manufactured by Japanese company Toray which incorporates nearly 30% of components from the recovery of sugar cane waste.
For some of our small leather goods, we also use Econyl®, a 100% recycled and recyclable nylon fibre made from plastic waste (bottles, fishing nets, etc) produced by Italian company Aquafil.
The other fabrics used as linings are made of GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified organic cotton, a label that guarantees the organic origin of the textile but also ecologically and socially responsible production.
LOW-IMPACT STIFFENERS
We chose to use mainly Forebio® reinforcements. These materials are supplied by French company Keck Chimie, present in the shoe and leather goods industry for more than a century.
These reinforcements, certified GRS (Global Recycled Standard), innovatively combine recycled textile fibres and latex from responsible sources. These products are also 100% recyclable.
Their excellent extendability and remarkable resistance make it a material of first choice for the creation of handbags and small leather goods.
RECYCLED SEWING THREADS
Although their weight in the overall environmental impact of our products is less significant, we have the same requirement for our sewing threads than for any other component.
We have selected Amman Group's Serafil®, a reference for high-end leather goods, offering remarkable strength for durable seams.
The “Recycled” version of Serafil®, made from recycled PET bottles and certified GRS (Global Recycled Standard), now combines sustainable quality and responsibility.
METAL PARTS MADE WITH RENEWABLE ENERGIES
The metal parts adorning our creations are made of Brass brass plated with 24-carats gold.
To make them, we have decided to work with Italian company Officina Bigiotteria Italiana (OBI), a reference partner for ‘Haute Maroquinerie’. The company produces in Italy using 100% renewable energies, thus reducing dramatically the carbon footprint of the metal parts they manufacture for us.
As a pledge of its commitment and reliability, the company is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and especially to ISO 14001 standards on environmental impact management. Furthermore, to ensure that its jewellery pieces meet the highest social and environmental standards, OBI exclusively uses gold certified by the RJC (Responsible Jewellery Council).
RECYCLED ZIP TAPES
All our zip tapes and pullers are manufactured by Riri Group. Riri’s workshops, located in Switzerland and Italy, have been the preferred choice of many luxury houses since 1936.
Since 2021, Riri has made recycled polyester the standard choice for its range of zippers. Tapes are made of recycled polyester, from post-consumer (80%) and pre-consumer (20%) materials, leading to a 32% reduction in CO2 emissions related to the acquisition of polyester within the group.
Polyester fibers used by Riri Group are certified GRS, a perpetual commitment from them to only work in accordance with international standards acknowledged by the industry.
